Part of a historic Grade II*-listed building in Birmingham city centre has been sold for £1 million.
Monopro, a private family investment company, has acquired the leasehold interest in the ground floor and basement of the shops, offices and former Methodist meeting hall at Central Hall, in Corporation Street.
Designed by architecture practice Ewan Harper and James A Harper, the Edwardian red brick and terracotta Central Hall building was used as a place of worship until the early 1980s.
Central Hall Developments, which acquired the freehold from the Methodist Church in 1989, will retain the upper floors of the building.
The property comprises 11 units, totalling more than 30,000 sq ft, and tenants include Purcell Parker Solicitors, Tuckers Solicitors, Make & Mend, L'Annexe restaurant and T Wilkes Hairdresser.
Property consultancy Bruton Knowles has been instructed to market the six vacant units which include the Chinese Methodist Church.
John Tooke of Bruton Knowles said: "Central Hall is architecturally stunning and is one of Birmingham's best examples of an Edwardian red brick building.
"Its location close to the city centre on the main pedestrian route from the university campus means it attracts a considerable amount of footfall, perfect for retail occupiers.
"Architects Brownhill Hayward Brown have been instructed to look at the two larger units with a view to possibly reconfiguring their layouts to better suit current market demand."
