Property consultancy DTZ has appointed Tom Bathurst as senior surveyor to its Birmingham-based residential development team.

Mr Bathurst joins the team in Colmore Square from Savills where he spent four years as a surveyor.

He has experience working within the valuation and residential development departments and has been involved in strategic land promotion.

He is a graduate of Oxford Brookes University and has a master's degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Birmingham.

In his new role, Mr Bathurst will be undertaking residential agency, valuation and consultancy work on behalf of a range of public and private sector clients including lending institutions, private landowners, local authorities and other public sector organisations.

Iain McArthur, director in DTZ's residential team in Birmingham, said: "Having a high-quality residential development offer in the Midlands region is crucial to our clients as a value driver to support their growth strategy in the development sector.

"Tom's appointment will allow DTZ to exert greater influence in the sector, providing support to our clients as well as assisting the team in growing our business. We are delighted to have him on board."
