Property consultancy Colliers International has won the brief to manage the new Parkgate shopping and leisure complex in Solihull.

The £85 million development in Stratford Road, Shirley, finally opened earlier this year following a decade of planning wrangles.

It is anchored by a 80,000 sq ft Asda and also has 26 commercial units, some of which have already opened, and 71 townhouses and apartments.

The 160,000 sq ft site is owned by Shirley Advance, a joint venture between Helical Retail and Coltham Developments, which has appointed the Brindleyplace-based investment property management team at Colliers.

Sophie Orme, director and head of Colliers' specialist retail and shopping centre team in Birmingham, said: "These latest instructions join existing instructions from high profile FTSE-listed property companies such as British Land and Aviva.

"It's great to be able to expand our existing list of high profile clients and the national instructions that we service here from our Birmingham office and we look forward to continuing to add value through proactive asset management and tenant engagement strategy."
