London & Cambridge Properties is ploughing £1.5 million into renovating its Black Country headquarters.

LCP House, on The Pensnett Estate in Kingswinford, is undergoing a major refit and comes after the company has spent more £8 million on redevelopment and refurbishment projects across its property portfolio over the past year.

Its three-storey HQ, which dates back to the 1960s, is being re-clad and will also feature a so-called brise soleil - an exterior shading system that helps to control solar heat.

London & Cambridge Properties has commissioned architecture practice GH Design and Stanford Construction as the appointed contractor, both of which are based on The Pensnett Estate, to undertake the design and construction work.

Managing director Nick Burgess said: "We pride ourselves on providing our tenants with good quality commercial properties and have ploughed millions over the years into our property portfolio.

"We are growing rapidly as a company and we want our head office to be a true reflection of our professionalism and ambition for the future.

"This major refurbishment will bring the building into the 21st century."

Work has already begun and it is expected to be completed by next Easter.
