Wragge & Co has appointed seven new directors as part of a drive to boost its capabilities in core practice areas and growth sectors.

Senior partner Quentin Poole said the promotions underpin the firm’s commitment to investing in strong specialist markets and to providing clients with sector-focused commercial advice.

Taking the total number of Wragge & Co directors to 50, the promotions represent a mix of specialist practice areas.

The new directors are Kerry Burns (construction), Elizabeth Gane (pensions), Joe Morris (real estate), Jonathan Segal (banking and finance), Richard Smith (commercial and IT), Chris Towle (corporate) and Mike Twining (commercial development and investment).

Mr Poole said: “Demonstrating our commitment to delivering outstanding full-service advice, the promotions are an investment in exceptional lawyers with the passion and drive to help take the firm forward.”

Directors’ responsibilities can include managing client relationships, business development or leading a particular practice area. Already this year, IP specialist Kate Swaine, construction expert Dan Wood and Paris-based real estate specialist Danhoe Reddy-Girard have been promoted to the partnership.

Wragge & Co is a Birmingham-headquartered commercial law firm advising international companies and major public sector organisations on a full range of legal issues.

The firm was started in the city in 1834 and has grown from a two-partner firm to the Midlands’ biggest law firm.
