Two more days of strike action are set to take place at the logistics operation of high street retail group Arcadia.

Staff at the Spectrum for Arcadia base in Shirley will walk out tomorrow and on Monday in a row over a minimum wage dispute.

Spectrum for Arcadia is a division of DHL Logistics Supply Chain but Arcadia sets staff wages due to the nature of the contract.

Spectrum supplies products for Arcadia's online sales whose brands include Topshop, Topman, Burton and Miss Selfridge among others.

The decision to strike follows a vote among members of the GMB trade union who also walked out of the depot in Shirley on Cyber Monday - one of the busiest days of the year for online sales.

The union is making a claim for 'Real Living Wage' - currently set at £8.45 by the Living Wage Foundation.

GMB said Arcadia had made no effort to contact workers following that walkout last week.

Organiser Dominic Hinks said: "The way we have been treated by Arcadia is utterly shabby. On the ground, the company's reps have been very good but we are getting nothing from head office.

"We have even offered up counter proposals but all we get in return is silence. Now, we have no choice but to take further action."

Arcadia's chairman is Sir Philip, the former boss of BHS which collapsed earlier this year.

A statement from DHL Logistics Supply Chain said: "We are disappointed GMB has announced its intention to hold industrial action.

"We believe our offer to be reasonable in the current economic climate.

"Detailed contingency plans are in place and we are confident there will be no disruption to service. We urge the GMB to return to the negotiating table to meet with us to resolve this matter at the earliest opportunity."
