Ethical waste company Fortress Recycling & Resource Management has expanded its fleet of vehicles after securing a £150,000 funding package from Lloyds Bank.

Based in Warwick, Fortress is a family owned business and specialises in providing containers for businesses for the disposal of waste and recycling materials.

The company also offers services such as waste audits, bin cleaning and the recycling of hazardous waste.

Lloyds Bank provided Fortress with £150,000 of asset finance to fund the purchase of a new Volvo FE and Mercedes Sprinter van, allowing it to accept new contracts and cater to existing and new customers.

Fortress has also bought 300 new waste disposal contracts, from a skip company it has worked closely with for many years, and opened a new depot in Aldridge.

The business said it now planned to continue its expansion with the acquisition of further contracts over the coming year.

Managing director David Pass said: "We have enjoyed strong growth over recent years and we were looking for ways to grow our business further.

"In order to accelerate our expansion, we needed to purchase additional vehicles and this has significantly improved the way that we are able to operate day to day.

Phil Davies, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: "Fortress is a forward-thinking business with a wealth of experience in the waste management sector and has built up a fantastic reputation across Warwickshire.

"The recent vehicle purchase marks a pivotal moment for the business as it works further towards achieving its long-term growth ambitions, and we were pleased to be able to support the deal."
