Katie Bard, which is part of the international Angela Mortimer Group and has its Birmingham offices in Waterloo Street, gave an update on labour market trends regionally and nationally during an event at De Vere Venues Colmore Gate.

The seminar included presentations from Katie Bard team leader Verity Stokes along with talks from Sonia Cason-Zeif and Sophie Carr from media recruitment specialists Pathfinders and Richard Price from utility firm Glide on the benefits of a well-structured work experience programmes.

Verity said: “Work experience remains a significant way for organisations to source top talent, and research has found as many as 75 per cent of the roles in City banks are filled with people who have previously had work experience with them.

“We’re always working hard to increase awareness of the benefits of implementing a well-structured work experience programme, particularly for SMEs as it can not only help to keep a rolling supply of top talent but also help to compete with large blue-chip recruiters.”
