A new all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet has opened its first Birmingham restaurant at the Arcadian Centre.

The opening of Kyoto Sushi and Grill on Hurst Street in Southside will create 30 jobs and brings the fixed-price, all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet concept to the UK for the first time.

This comes just 24 hours after the Post revealed a new restaurant deal for the first Midland Bank branch on Bennetts Hill.

Johnny Wong, one of the restaurant owners, said Japanese cuisine was becoming more popular throughout the UK.

“We know Birmingham is the right place to come to open our first venue and as soon as we saw the Arcadian Centre, we felt it would be right at home, being in the heart of the lively Chinese Quarter,” he said.

The restaurant, which features more than 70 dishes, has opened its doors to lovers of high quality sushi, handmade rolls, noodles, soups and salads.

The sushi bar is the latest opening at the Arcadian since nightclub Myyst last summer.
