How a vital Birmingham charity will benefit from BPBA 2016

Birmingham Post Business Awards are backing an important city charity at the gala ceremony on October 26

Vital funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice will be raised at this year’s Birmingham Post Business Awards.

The charity provides dedicated care – 24 hours a day seven days a week – to children who are not expected to live into adulthood.

Guests will be invited to contribute towards Acorns during the BPBA gala event at ICC Birmingham on Wednesday, October 26, during which 13 award winners will be announced.

The awards showcase all that is best about Birmingham’s business community which has worked hard to achieve success for themselves, their staff and their customers.

Categories include Export Award, Retail Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Sales and Marketing and the eagerly awaited Company of the Year award.

The ICC hosts 350 events and with more than 30,000 delegates each year so is a suitable venue to honour this success.

BPBA 2016 has highlighted the dedication show by Birmingham’s business community to supporting one another through the through the number of prestigious sponsors which have stepped forward to support the categories.

Turkish Airline and Mattioli Woods are the headline partners of the event, and are in the company of category sponsors which include Birmingham Airport, Birmingham City University, Browne Jacobson, IKEA, Jaguar Land Rover, Janine Edwards Principle partner of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, Jerroms and JLT.

This year Champions (UK) plc are helping to organise the awards.

Birmingham Post Editor-in-Chief Marc Reeves said: “We are proud to recognise the achievements of some remarkable firms in Birmingham this year.

On the night guests will be greeted to the venue with a Prosecco Reception before enjoying a sumptuous three course meal that will bring with it plenty of opportunities for networking with other key businesses from the area.

Emma Jesson hosts the Awards ceremony

Hosting the awards are English comedian Dominic Holland and TV weather presenter Emma Jesson.

Perrier Award winning comedian, author and broadcaster Dominic Holland has written material for Lenny Henry, Harry Enfield, Clive Anderson and the late, great Bob Monkhouse. As well as appearing on a number of television and radio shows, he is a regular panellist on Channel 5’s Wright Stuff and is a master of observational comedy.

Formerly of GMTV, Emma Jesson currently presents for several ITV regions, namely Granada and ITV North and Midlands. Emma also regularly hosts awards ceremonies and charitable events for clients such as The Law Society, the NHS and the Chamber of Commerce Group.

The night will be made that little bit more special with entertainment from the British-Armenian musician Kev Orkian.

How to get tickets to BPBA 2016

BPBA has grown in popularity to become one of the most important events in the region’s professional calendar with 650 in attendance last year and a record number of entries from more than 100 businesses.

Tickets cost £100 +VAT per ticket or £1,000+VAT for a table of 10 and include a Champagne reception and three-course sit down meal.
