The head of signage and banner firm Hollywood Monster has flown out to Tokyo to run in the city's marathon.

Tim Andrews will join around 36,000 runners on Sunday and is being supported by Turkish Airlines as they bid to raise £5,000 for LoveBrum.

The charity was recently launched and strives to fund and support 'hidden gem' projects in Birmingham.

Mr Andrews said: "It seemed so far away when I first announced that I'd be running it.

"The support I'm getting from Turkish Airlines is gratefully received as it allows me to raise as much money as possible for the cause.

"Tokyo will be my seventh marathon - I have always wanted to run it and now seems like the right time to do it."

Selim Ozturk, general manager at Turkish Airlines, added: "It is our absolute pleasure to support Tim during the long journey to Japan.

"LoveBrum is a fantastic cause, supporting local charities within the Birmingham region and is something we are proud to be associated with."

In its first year, LoveBrum is aiming to promote 40 causes and raise a minimum of £120,000 to fund 12 projects.
