Edgbaston Stadium recently welcomed 100 guests for a VIP reception in the Player's Lounge and Committee Lounge as the club unveiled the Birmingham Bears T20 team and brand for this year’s new domestic Twenty20 cricket competition.
The Birmingham Bears is the new name for Warwickshire CCC in the NatWest T20 Blast, and the team will play seven home games at Edgbaston in 2014, with five scheduled on Friday nights.
Guests at the event were treated to the exciting new plans for match days, which include live music from local bands, activities on the pitch at half time and regular mascot races.
Colin Povey, chief executive at Edgbaston, said: “We want supporters to start their weekend with the Bears on a Friday night, with action packed games of cricket and live entertainment creating the party atmosphere that Edgbaston is renowned for.”
As a special 20-day offer for supporters, tickets to see the Birmingham Bears are priced at just £10 for Adults and £1 for Under 16s. From April 15 tickets bought in advance will be £15 for Adults and £5 for under-16s (£22 and £5 on the gate on match days). The season gets under way at Edgbaston on Friday, May 23, against Yorkshire Vikings.
