PR and marketing agency Citypress has been recruited by property group British Land to provide consumer digital and social media support for its shopping centres.

The company, which previously owned the NatWest Tower in Colmore Row, owns Old Market in Hereford, Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre in London, Whiteley in Hampshire and Broughton in Chester.

Citypress, which launched its Birmingham arm in 2011, will provide digital and social media support across all of British Land's retail assets which are estimated to be worth £10.8 billion.

The agency will report to British Land's head of retail marketing Linsey Wooldridge who previously partnered with Citypress when she was marketing director at retailer McArthurGlen.

She said: "We launched new digital platforms for our portfolio of retail assets at the end of last year to improve shopper engagement and awareness.

"Citypress has been appointed to deliver a digital content and social media programme to maximise the effectiveness of these platforms and to drive footfall and awareness.

"Having previously worked with Citypress on PR programmes for retail portfolios, the agency was a clear choice for this brief given their expertise in the sector."
