The Bromsgrove International Young Musicians’ Competition recently took place in the Routh Hall at Bromsgrove School.

The musicians competed this year for three prizes; £3,000 (first) plus a paid recital opportunity provided by Bromsgrove Concerts to be given during the 2015 Bromsgrove Festival; £1,500 (second) and £1,000 (third). There was also a President’s Prize of £1,000 generously donated by Sir John Manduell.

A panel of distinguished adjudicators, led by Edmond Fivet CBE, judged the 2014 competition with two other internationally renowned musicians, Angela Livingstone and Dona Lee Croft.

The competition is a well-established annual event open to instrumentalists between the ages of 17 and 25; singers up to the age of 28 and has always attracted the highest quality of international musical talent with many of its competitors going on to enjoy national and international fame.
