Birmingham City's protracted takeover finally concluded at 2am British time today - and long before the sun rose some Blues fans were up to witness the dawning of a new era.

Trading in shares of Blues' parent company Birmingham International Holdings resumed at 9am in Hong Kong a move which closed the Carson Yeung chapter and opened Trillion Trophy Asia's.

That brought to an end one of the most troublesome periods in the club's history and while Blues fans will have many questions about the future, they also have the knowledge that the legal wrangling of the recent past is finally at an end.

And even in the small hours some were up to welcome the news.

We'll have lots more reaction throughout the day at the Birmingham Mail.
