The BBC is creating 100 more jobs in Birmingham by bringing some HR services in-house.
The state broadcaster was already shifting about 200 roles, largely around its HR and training arm the BBC Academy, to The Mailbox this year.
But James Purnell, director of strategy and digital at the BBC, revealed the total was being increased to 300 by creating a "HR Service Centre" in the city.
It comes amid rising pressure on the publicly funded broadcaster to invest more in the region, as presently spending levels are a fraction in the Midlands they are elsewhere in the UK.
A BBC spokesperson said: "We announced last year that Birmingham would become the BBC's new hub for HR, the BBC Academy and BBC Workplace. This has involved moving 200 jobs to Birmingham over the last year.
"We have now also announced plans to create a new HR Service Centre in the city, with an additional circa 100 in-sourced roles in Birmingham from December 2015.
"We'll therefore be actively seeking to redeploy BBC staff to the new service centre and expect to be recruiting externally across the city and surrounding area from July."
The latest announcement is a positive step towards filling The Mailbox offices which have become barren in recent years after a series of cuts.
However, the move does not address frustrations over falling levels of production in the region.
The Midlands region - which also takes in the East Midlands and East - has a population almost the size of the Netherlands but produces no prime-time television at all.
And after just 8.5 per cent of the £942 million raised in licence fees in the Midlands was reinvested by the broadcaster last year, the Post launched a campaign demanding that should be at least half - as it is in every other region.
Joe Godwin, director of BBC Birmingham and the BBC Academy, said the broadcaster was building a stronger presence in the city.
He added: "I'm pleased to say this week that even more jobs are coming to Birmingham. Instead of bringing an additional 200 jobs here, I can announce today that we're now proposing to bring around 300.
"These roles will help build up BBC Birmingham further as the BBC's home for skills, talent and recruitment as part of a new BBC HR Service Centre here at The Mailbox.
"The roles will serve the whole of the BBC and will work closely with the BBC Academy, entry level training schemes, talent and skills development, including inductions, apprenticeships and traineeships.
"Added to the BBC Engineering training centre housed over at Wood Norton in Worcestershire, these teams will ensure that the BBC in the Midlands is playing a vital role in the future of the BBC and the wider industry.
"Having our centre for skills and talent in Birmingham also means that all new starters to the BBC - as well as household names from across the corporation - will be coming through our doors at The Mailbox."
