Mattioli Woods Chief Executive Ian Mattioli has told how his company has benefited from winning many awards and that he now wishes to help other companies reap similar benefits at the Birmingham Post Business Awards.
The wealth management and employee benefits company is sponsoring this year’s Excellence in Manufacturing award the winner of which will be unveiled at a glittering ceremony at ICC Birmingham on Wednesday, October 26.
“Our business has benefited greatly from winning numerous awards and we feel it only right to help other businesses reap the rewards of such accolades,” said Mr Mattioli.
“We recently claimed the top spot on a league table of Midlands SMEs, which was a real lift. Winning, or even being selected as a finalist, can be a great boost to any business, not only in terms of PR but also staff and team morale.
“Birmingham is among the best cities in Europe in which to do business – it is a great city with a talented workforce and is one of the few UK cities to reach European Top 20 rankings.
“There are excellent transport links and there has been a lot of investment in the City’s transport infrastructure, including the £600 million redevelopment of New Street station and £65 million runway extension at Birmingham Airport.
“People often talk about the powerhouse of the north, but the Midlands and Birmingham continue to thrive as a place where businesses can flourish.
“A significant amount of investment in Birmingham has meant that the private sector continues to deliver despite challenging times.
“Just take a look through the quality of the entrants in these awards and you will be astounded by the sheer business talent in the area.”
Mattioli Woods has launched some interesting business initiatives since it began operating 25 years ago and has got many more plans going forward.
“We have a large client base in the West Midlands from personal investors through to owner managed businesses and larger corporates, where we assist with delivering our employee benefits support services,” said Mr Mattioli.
“We have also developed some great partnerships with local accountants and solicitors and run a number of events in the area as well as spearheading the Colmore Breakfast Club, which has been a perfect platform for many businesses to share ideas and grow their connections.

“As we enter our 25th year, this year will likely be the biggest year in our history to date and for so many reasons.
“We completed record numbers of new client wins and the range, size and diversity of those new clients, individuals and corporates is fabulous to see and gives a great base for our new financial year.
“It’s great to be part of what we are all achieving and I know clients love the range of our services, our personal delivery, our professionalism and the simple passion to do a great job for them.
“It’s great to be part of a winning team and this will prove, I am sure, to be the same strong foundation for our next 25 years.
