Saqib Bhatti, president of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce, told a group of more than 100 business leaders not to skimp when it comes to professional services.
He was speaking at a monthly Chutney and Natter event organised by Birmingham-based training provider the Pathway Group.
The event, held at the Pranzo Restaurant on Warwick Road in Sparkhill, Birmingham, heard how Saqib had decided to return to the Midlands to work in his family accountancy business.
He said that the best businesses surround themselves with the best possible people and get the best possible advice.
