UP TO 50 Birmingham professionals have helped raise around £12,000 for charity after abseiling down a landmark building in Edgbaston.

The climb down was part of a family fun day at 8 Calthorpe Road, headquarters of protein company The Binding Site, in aid of Edward’s Trust, which supports children and families during serious illness and bereavement.

Teams from accountants Chantrey Vellacott DFK, Tyndallwoods Solicitors and Barclays took part and the event is on course to raise £20,000.

Costs were kept to a minimum thanks to the generosity of companies including Raise Scaffolding and Betty Rose China.

Suk Aulak, partner at Chantrey Vellacott, said: “Through the close working relationship we have with Judy Dyke at Tyndallwoods, who is a long-standing patron of the charity, we know all about the fantastic work the Edward’s Trust does.”
